Mossyplay was created by Kingplay Corporation located in Wilmington, Delaware as a way to give customers access to a large library of digital books in one site. It is available worldwide, though there are limitations in certain countries as listed on their site.

Mossyplay offers paid monthly subscriptions allowing its customers to have unlimited access to a comprehensive digital entertainment library of fully licensed e-books. The library covers a wide variety of genres to appeal to a full range of interests including romance, sci-fi, western, autobiographies, mystery and much more. New titles are added every day, giving customers plenty of exciting new content to discover, including anything from timeless classics up to the newest releases. The e-books may be read directly through a browser or downloaded to a PC or tablet.

Customers new to Mossyplay can often sign up beginning with a 5-day free trial. This gives new customers time to peruse the library and get some reading in. At the end of the five days, the customer will be charged the monthly fee. This fee is processed automatically at the end of the five days and each subsequent month on that same date. These membership fees may vary depending on which plan was selected upon registration as well as any promotions in place at the time of registration. New customers may see a $1 or $2 charge on their card even during the 5-day free trial. This is a temporary hold used to verify identity and will be released within ten business days.
