How to Cancel ATT

About AT&T Now

Thanks to the rise of live TV-focused video streaming services like DirecTV Stream, quitting your cable provider is now simpler than ever (formerly known as AT&T TV). This cable alternative service runs admirably, provides a large selection of channels, and has loosened some of its tight DVR restrictions. Despite this, the enhanced service is still very costly when compared to alternative live TV streaming services.

Since the firm no longer requires a two-year contract, the bundle selection for DirecTV Stream is more straightforward. Currently, DirecTV Stream runs on a month-to-month basis, much like all of the other live TV streaming services PCMag examined. You can cancel your DirecTV Stream subscription within the first 14 days of service and receive a full refund, but you must do so by contacting DirecTV. You must speak with a customer service representative via the chat feature on the DirectTV website in order to cancel the service.

The four monthly options offered by DirecTV Stream are Entertainment, Choice, Ultimate, and Premier. The number of channels you receive is the only difference between the plans. Consumers favor providers that offer simple, single-package lineups, such Hulu + Live TV and YouTube TV. Also awkwardly dividing their plans into various tiers are FuboTV and Sling TV.

The least expensive option is the 65-channel Entertainment Package, which costs $69.99 per month. The local broadcast affiliates of ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC are all included in this package, along with news outlets including CNBC, CNN, CNN International, C-SPAN, FOX Business, FOX News, and MSNBC. Animal Planet, Discovery, Disney Channel, Food Network, FX, HGTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount, SYFY, TBS, and USA are some of the entertainment and lifestyle channels available. Also, you have access to sports channels like TNT, FS1, ESPN, ESPN2, and NBC Sports Network. Regional sports networks (RSNs) are not available at this tier.

The total number of available channels rises to about 90 with the $89.99 per month Select package. The majority of the channels from the Entertainment Package are included, along with Cheddar, CNBC World, Cooking Channel, Fuse, Game Show Network, Nick Jr., Nicktoons, OWN, Science, Tastemade, The Weather Channel, and Travel Channel (with the exception of Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, Ovation, and Revolt). You also receive more sports channels including Tennis Channel, ACC, ESPNews, ESPNU, MLB Network, and NBA TV.

You receive RSNs, which is the main benefit of the Choice plan (and every higher-priced tier) above the Entertainment plan. For sports fans who wish to watch regional sports networks (RSNs) operated by one of the three media networks AT&T (SportsNet), Comcast (NBC Sports), or Sinclair that broadcast local MLB, NBA, and NHL games, RSNs are crucial (Bally Sports). To find out which RSN broadcasts the games of your neighborhood team, visit their respective pages. Although lacking some NBC Sports RSNs, DirecTV Stream is notable for being the only live TV service tested to include RSNs from all three networks. The majority of other streaming platforms, such as YouTubeTV, Hulu + Live TV, and fuboTV, have stopped offering RSNs owned by AT&T and Sinclair, respectively.

With the $104.99/month Ultimate package, 130 additional channels are added to the lineup. You also get American Heroes Channel, Aspire, BBC World News, CBS Sports Network, DIY, FS2, FX Movie Channel, Golf Channel, Logo, MTV Classic, Nat Geo Wild, NHL Center Ice, Olympic Channel, Oxygen, several Starz Encore channels, Smithsonian Channel, and Universal Kids in addition to all of the Choice's plans channels. The Ultimate subscription, which costs $104.99 per month, adds 130 new channels to the selection. Along with all of the channels included in the Choice plan, you also get American Heroes Channel, Aspire, BBC World News, CBS Sports Network, DIY, FS2, FX Movie Channel, Golf Channel, Logo, MTV Classic, Nat Geo Wild, NHL Center Ice, Olympic Channel, Oxygen, several Starz Encore channels, Smithsonian Channel, and Universal Kids.

You can sign up for add-on packages with DirecTV Stream just as with the majority of other services. You can add Premium Channels like HBO Max ($15 monthly), Cinemax ($11 monthly), Epix ($6 monthly), Showtime ($11 monthly), and Starz ($11 monthly), for instance. Vietnamese ($20 per month for nine channels), Korean ($30 per month for 11 channels), and Brazilian ($30 per month for two channels) package options are also available. 15 channels are included in the $15/month Espaol add-on, including CNN en Espaol, Discovery en Espaol, ESPN Deportes, Fox Deportes, Telemundo, TUDN, and Univision. A sports-focused portion of the Espaol add-on is included in the $5 monthly Deportes option (ESPN Deportes, FOX Deportes, TyC Sports, and Univision Deportes). Keep in mind that since some add-ons are already a part of your streaming plan, they might not be available.

There are iOS and Android apps available from DirecTV Stream. With an Android 11 smartphone, PCMag tested the DirecTV Stream app and had no trouble logging in. Although it doesn't look very stunning, the mobile app appears to be consistent with the desktop experience. The Picture-in-Picture view of the app can't be turned off, which results in it taking up a portion of the UI.

You can utilize the Guide, which is accessible via an icon in the top left, or you can explore the program using the three menu choices Watch Now, My Library, and Discover at the bottom of the screen. While you can't modify your subscription settings from within the app, you may enable parental control controls, adjust closed-captioning choices, and choose between Excellent, Better, and Best streaming quality.
