How Do I Cancel My GlobalTel

GlobalTel Link is a telecommunications company based in Reston, VA. The company was founded in 1980 as Global Telcoin, Inc in Mobile, Alabama, and is responsible for providing and managing the Inmate Calling Services in correctional facilities. GlobalTel provides an integrated IT system for facilities that include services such as inmate payments, inmate deposits, facility management, and visitation solutions as well as inmate calls. Under CEO Brian D. Oliver, by 2015 the company controlled 50% of inmate calling services in the USA. GlobalTel services are provided to approximately 2,300 facilities and 1.8 million inmates in 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Customers may choose to set up an AdvanceCall account with GlobalTel. This allows an individual to register his or her phone number and make a deposit to cover the cost of future incoming calls from an inmate. These accounts do not allow the person to call their inmate but do eliminate the need for phone cards or adding money to the inmate’s account in order to receive calls. Rates per minute are determined by specific facilities and will vary but individuals can check the rates inside their account online once it is set up. There is no monthly or unlimited plan but customers may choose to set up an automatic replenishment that will charge and add money to the account when it falls below a chosen threshold. Accounts can be cancelled at any time by contacting GlobalTel and unused funds may be refunded. More information on cancelling an account with GlobalTel is included on this page to assist you.
