When looking to cut down on spending, look at subscriptions and memberships is a good place to start cutting costs. If you are looking to cancel your Equinox membership, the steps below will make the process a breeze:

Things You Need To Cancel Your Account

  • Your full name
  • Your full mailing address
  • Your DOB
  • Your Member ID #
  • Reason for cancellation

*Call your home gym location to verify your eligibility for cancellation.

To Cancel In-Club:

  • Visit your home club and meet with the club Manager.
  • Fill out a cancellation form and pay the pro-rated amount due to stop billing.
  • Once your form is filled out and the pro-rated amount is paid, you will receive a confirmation receipt for your cancellation.

To Cancel via Certified Mail:

  • Draft a cancellation request letter that includes:
    • Your full name
    • Your Member ID #
    • The address of your home club
    • Your full mailing address
    • Your date of birth
    • The reason for your cancellation
    • Your email address
  • In this letter, request that email confirmation of your cancellation is sent to you at the email address you provided.
  • Send this letter via Certified Mail to your gym location.
  • Your home gym location will cancel your membership based on how much notice was given, collect the pro-rated amount due, and stop your billing.

Note: Eligible Reasons for Cancellation-

  • If you have been an Equinox member for at least one year, you may cancel your membership at any time, as long as give at least the amount of appropriate notice as spelled out in your membership agreement.
  • If you are inside your first year of membership, you may cancel your membership for the following reasons (with proper notice, as outlined in your membership agreement):
    • Relocation– if you are moving to a location that is 25 or more miles away from any Equinox location
    • Medical– If your doctor finds you medically unable to workout for at least 6 months, you may cancel your membership. Attach a note from your doctor stating that you are unable to work out for 6 months or more to your cancellation form, either at your home club or with your certified letter.
    • Job Loss
