The GoPhone was an alternative option for customers who do not want to be locked into a committed contract service. It is a prepaid service offered, with no contracts or obligations. The plans are typically “pay-as-you-go” meaning that you pay for your service upfront and once a month, eliminating the chances for overages or hidden costs. There is also no credit check needed to obtain the GoPhone service, meaning that it is available for anyone who wants to sign up, without restrictions.
The GoPhone was renamed in 2017 to AT&T Prepaid. There are currently four plans available under AT&T Prepaid. The first plan is the $35 per month plan that includes unlimited talk, text, and 1GB of data, along with mobile hotspot and HD video streaming.
